Live365 takes pride in being able to be configured on multiple platforms. There are a number of 3rd party applications that you can use in conjunction with Live365. BUTT (Broadcast Using This Tool) is free to use and has Icecast capabilities, thus is compatible with Live365. BUTT is a great tool for broadcasting live voice and live interviews on your Live365 stream. BUTT can be configured on Mac, Windows and Linux.
Here are step-by-step instructions on how to configure BUTT to work with Live365:
Step 1) Download and install a free copy of BUTT (Broadcast Using This Tool): https://sourceforge.net/projects/butt/files/butt/butt-0.1.13/
Step 2) Open your Live365 Broadcaster Dashboard. (Login Required)
Step 3) Locate the Station Information area as shown below:
Step 4) Next, Click on the red “Live Stream Details” button.
Step 5) The “Live Stream Details” window should appear similar to the one shown below.
Step 6) Open your copy of BUTT. In the main window for BUTT encoder, click the “Settings” button.
Step 7) In the Settings window, under “Server Settings”, click the “Add” button.
Step 8) Fill in the information that was provided in the Live365 “Live Stream Details” window.
Name = We suggest naming it Live365, but you can add any name you wish.
Address = Live365 ServerIP, as provided in the “Live Stream Details” window.
Type = IceCast
Port = 8000
Password = Live365 Password, as provided in the “Live Stream Details” window.
IceCast mountpoint = Live365 mountpoint, as provided in the “Live Stream Details” window.
IceCast User = source
Once you have entered the details from the Live365 Stream Details window, click the “ADD” button at the bottom of the window.
Step 9) Press the “Save” button at the bottom of the BUTT settings window.
Step 10) In the BUTT interface, click the play button to begin your Live Broadcast.
As soon as you click the play button, you will begin broadcasting live.
Please remember that even when using a 3rd party application like BUTT, you must comply with the DMCA and you must send valid metadata for copyrighted content (Artist - Title) that plays in your stream.
