RadioBoss is a 3rd party software that you can use in conjunction with Live365 to broadcast live. RadioBoss is just one of many applications you can use with Live365. RadioBoss is only available for Windows. There is a free trial version, but if you intend to continue using RadioBoss, you will need to purchase a copy.
Here are step-by-step setup instructions to set up RadioBoss:
Step 1) Download and install a copy of RadioBoss: https://www.djsoft.net/
Step 2) Open your Live365 Broadcaster. (Login Required)
Step 3) Locate the Station Information area on your Live365 Dashboard, as shown below:
Step 4) Click on the orange “Live Stream Details” button.
Step 5) Once you’ve clicked the “Live Stream Details” button, the Setup Instructions window will open, similar to the one shown below.
Leave this window open because you will need to input some of this information into the RadioBoss interface.
Step 6) Open your copy of RadioBoss. Find the Settings menu at the top of the RadioBoss window, then select Settings > Options. (You can also use the shortcut ctrl+shift+o).
Step 7) In the RadioBoss settings window, select “Broadcast” from the menu on the left, then click on the plus icon on the right side of the Settings window.
Step 8) In the Encoder window, select the “Configuration Wizard” button.
Step 9) Select the Icecast 2 server type, then click the “Next” button.
Step 10) Enter the Setup Instructions from Live365 into the RadioBoss connection window.
Server address = Server IP (as it appears in Live365).
Port = 8000
Username = source
Password = Password (as it appears in Live365).
Mount point = mount (as it appears in Live365)
Then click the “Finish” button.
Step 11) Once you have entered the details, check that the sample rate is 44100, the encoder type is set to MPS and the bitrate is set to 128kbps stereo. Then click “OK”.
Step 12) When you are ready to broadcast, ensure that the checkbox beside the encoder is selected and that the “Broadcasting Enabled” checkbox is also selected. This will change your encoder status to “Active” so that you can begin broadcasting live.
Step 13) When you have enabled the encoder, you will know that you are successfully connected when you see the ON AIR sign at the top right of the RadioBoss window. You will also notice that you are “Connected” in the LiveDJ area of your Live365 Dashboard.
Please remember that even when you are broadcasting live, your files must transmit the correct metadata for copyrighted content (Artist - Title). If you are part of the Ad Revenue Share Program, you must also manually insert our ad trigger files.
